Matthew Cardarople shot a short film about his grandparents, focusing on his 92-year-old grandfather, Philip. A lover of baseball and a coach of a Depression-era baseball team, Matt's family treated Philip to a gift for his birthday -- a day at the Red Sox Fantasy Camp. It's my favorite moment in the film and a great tribute to someone Matt loved and respected (Philip passed away two weeks after getting to fulfill his dream of hitting a ball at Fenway Park). I suggest that any of you who still have your grandparents living, take advantage of the opportunity and ask them questions, take notes, or film the experience. It's an amazing thing to have when they're gone.
Matt did a wonderful job on this documentary. I am very proud of him for not only paying tribute to his Grandfather but for making such a personal and moving piece.
What a wonderful, wonderful piece. Very touching. To see the little boy come out of that man is just a sight to behold, but what was even sweeter was his desire to share the story with his "bride" when he got back home. Watching their relationship was amazing!
It doesn't happen very often anymore so you know this was a special film that REALLY touched my emotions, it made me cry. Cry for the joy of life that Phillip had at age 92, joy of the love he shared with his wife, and joy that his grandson was so kind to give him the gift of a lifetime. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful story.

I love this!! Made me so happy to see him fulfilling his dream so late in life! It's never too late to do something that makes you happy.
